|
Supervises a group of children in the afterschool program. Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. Puts Christian principles into practice by building healthy spirit, mind and body for all. |

| Description of Duties and Responsibilities: |
|
|
1. Supervises a group of children.
2. Plans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally
appropriate, and consistent with YMCA core values.
3. Adhere to program standards and DHS licensing requirements, including safety and
cleanliness, at all times.
4. Follow emergency procedures when necessary, including monthly drills.
5. Perform daily inspection of facilities looking for any potential hazards. Correct hazards
immediately when able. Report all potential hazards to the coordinator verbally and in
writing.
6. Maintain positive relations with parents and other staff.
7. Ensure opening and closing duties are performed including prevention of over-staffing.
8. Communicate effectively and positively with staff, parents, parent groups, other YMCA
directors and state and area agencies in the absence of the Youth Coordinator.
9. Ensure that attendance sheets are filled out correctly and submitted in a timely manner.
10.Assist coordinator with maintaining compliance with DHS regulations and CACFP at all
times.
11.Duties as assigned. |
| Required Qualifications: |
|
|
1. High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.
2. Previous experience working with children preferably in an afterschool setting.
3. Education major preferred.
4. At least 18 years of age.
5. Previous experience with diverse populations preferred. |
