William Penn University is pleased to announce the New Alumni Accomplishment with Character Award (NAACA).
This award will be presented to William Penn graduates who have not yet celebrated 12 years since graduating from William Penn University. Each individual honored will have made a significant impact in their profession and/or community in the time following their graduation and in so doing, demonstrating the ‘spirit’ of William Penn’s Advices in 1699. The twelve advices include:
- Be Humble
- Be Just
- Be Meek
- Be True
- Be Patient
- Be Grateful
- Be Merciful
- Be Diligent
- Be Loving
- Be Thrifty
- Be Generous
- Be Temperate
The landmark ladder of William Penn’s Advices was erected on campus in 1972, commemorating the Campus Ministry Program. The Ladder holds a prominent location on the front lawn. The intent of the ladder is to encourage and influence the lifelong character of WPU students.
The recipients of this award will be recognized at the annual Honors Program. The inaugural award presentation will be in April 2022.
Nominations will be received from April 1-October 31 every year. Criteria for nominees:
- William Penn University graduate in good standing
- Achievements demonstrate the spirit of William Penn’s twelve advices
- Recognition of achievement may be in their profession, community service, faith based or service to William Penn University.
