Student Profile: Caylah Morrow

There are few college students who have as much drive and passion as Caylah Morrow. Coming to William Penn from Chandler, Arizona, Caylah came with one purpose in mind: to play basketball. She found that opportunity at WPU, when she was offered a scholarship to play the sport she loved.

She quickly realized that she was capable of so much more. Working towards her degree in Communications with an emphasis in Fine Art and a minor in Graphic Design, Caylah dedicated her studies to crafting works of art. “There is no specific element of art that I want to create. All I know is that I want to enable people to see the light in a dark world. I believe the best way I can do that is through my work. It’s where I feel I am most heard,” says Caylah.

Due to outstanding success in her field, she was appointed to represent William Penn in the Fine Arts and Cultural Events (FACE) program of Mahaska County. This gives Caylah the opportunity to teach local high school students and lead the Art Club at the University.

When she’s not in the studio, Caylah enjoys running, playing basketball with friends, and staying active with her sorority, Lambda Delta Nu. Pledging her freshman year at Penn, Caylah has held the position of President for the past 2 ½ years. She has worked hard to rebuild a reputation of positivity and encouragement for the group. “The women in the organization are leaders on campus who strive for excellence in their academic, athletic, and social lives. They work every day to build as individuals and as a unit,” says Caylah.

Caylah will complete her college career at WPU in December of 2017, and will continue to gain experience and inspire others through her artwork and community service. “I am happy, confident, and reasonably ready to take on the world. Thank you, William Penn.”
