Dear Friend,
Would you consider making a gift today to support the next generation of William Penn University students as they embark on their journey to create lasting memories and lifelong friendships?
“Friendship… is born at the moment when one person says to another, ‘What! You too? I thought that no one but myself.’” — Adapted from C.S. Lewis
As the end of August approaches, approximately 350 strangers from various states and countries will leave home to embark on the William Penn experience. Your generosity, whether it’s your first gift or one of many, plays a crucial role in helping these students connect with WPU staff, faculty, and one another, forming the bonds that last a lifetime.
Alumni across generations fondly recall the lifelong friendships and inspiring mentors they encountered during their time at William Penn. Your involvement, regardless of past giving, ensures that today’s students have the same opportunities to create meaningful connections and lasting memories.
Rebecca Warren, a nursing student and catcher on the softball team, shares a vibrant picture of the lasting connections created during her time at WPU. Originally from Las Vegas, Rebecca highlights the stark contrast between city life and the close-knit community of Oskaloosa. Here, she feels “truly seen and known”—a refreshing change from the anonymity of Vegas. Rebecca speaks fondly of the friendliness of the Oskaloosa community and the genuine conversations she has with people.
Abby, Rebecca’s Canadian friend, has forged a lifelong friendship with her through numerous early morning rides to clinicals at 4:45 AM and back to softball practice together. During these rides, they discussed everything imaginable—life, faith, guys, softball, nursing, and more.
Reflecting on the unexpected diversity at William Penn, Rebecca said, “I never expected to come to Iowa and meet so many people from all over the world with so many different perspectives.” Her pride in the connections she has made is evident when she says, “I brag about it all the time…the many people I’ve met in such a small town. I am sad to be leaving in another year.” Rebecca’s journey at William Penn University is a testament to the lifelong bonds and cherished memories that students, past and present, create in this unique and welcoming environment.
We hope you will join us in supporting our students as they create their own unique and meaningful William Penn experience. Your generosity makes a difference and ensures that future generations can enjoy the same vibrant community that you did.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to the William Penn family.
Warm regards,
Kevin Rohr
