JOB TITLE: Information Systems Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY:

Your primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive technical support for the university’s computing and information resources. Information Systems Specialists may have a primary assignment to support a specific academic or administrative unit, a particular campus, or may serve the entire university in an at-large technician role.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
Technical Proficiencies:

- Proficient in diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
- Knowledgeable in computer hardware, software, and network systems.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote support tools.
Abilities and Skills:

- Strong customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

REPORTS TO: Directors of Information Technology
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- CRespond to incoming technical support requests via phone, email, or in-person and provide timely assistance to users.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for clients.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer systems, peripherals, and software applications.
- Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate teams or senior technicians for resolution.
- Maintain accurate records of technical support requests and resolutions using our ticketing system.
- Provide technical guidance and training to users on software and hardware usage.
- Flexibility to adjust work schedules to accommodate instructional needs, downtime, system emergencies, and other issues that mandate a change of priorities.
- Assist with the setup and configuration of new hardware and software systems.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in the IT field.
- Contribute to the improvement of IT processes and procedures.
- This position may require occasional weekend and evening hours.
- Other duties as assigned.
