William Penn University Music Department to Present Spring Concert
04/18/2017
The William Penn University Music Department will present its spring performance, “That 70’s Concert”, Tuesday and Wednesday, April 25 and 26, at 7:00 p.m. in the Musco Technology Center on the William Penn University campus. The concerts, featuring performances from the Jazz Band and Choir, will be free and open to the public. Songs by Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Steely Dan, and Earth, Wind, and Fire, will bring back those memories of the 1970’s: polyester, smiley faces, and bell bottoms.
Performing ensembles will include the William Penn Singers under the direction of Anita Meinert, and the William Penn Jazz Band under the direction of Scott Cressley. Selections will include music performed on the group’s recent tour. The groups travelled to five high schools in southern Iowa: Albia, Moravia, Danville, Melcher-Dallas, and Twin Cedars.
