Denis Zavalishin, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of Mathematics

Dr. Denis Zavalishin joined the Applied Technology Division at William Penn University this year, relocating from Houston, Texas. He is an experienced Math educator with a strong scientific background in Aerospace Engineering, particularly in Applied Mathematics. Dr. Zavalishin has participated in multiple spacecraft launches and has led several experiments on board the International Space Station, focusing on the analysis and application of acceleration measurements.

In recent years, Dr. Zavalishin has dedicated his career to developing future specialists by teaching subjects such as Calculus, Algebra, Geometry, Advanced Quantitative Reasoning (AQR), and Statistics. Notably, his AQR students ranked first in a district of fourteen campuses in Houston, TX, last year.

Education and the sharing of knowledge and experience with the younger generation have become his passion and vocation. Dr. Zavalishin’s primary objective is to help students achieve their learning goals without fear of math, discover their potential, develop their abilities, and build confidence in applying various Math concepts.

Dr. Zavalishin believes that no matter how challenging a problem may seem, effective communication and personalized practice can lead to success. He encourages students to reach out and share their concerns without hesitation. To provide the necessary support and guidance, he offers extensive office hours and is ready to adapt to students’ needs.
