Glenn Steimling, Ph.D.
Professor of Kinesiology
While Dr. Steimling has only been a William Penn University faculty member since 2014, he is constantly looking for new ways to engage students not only through the sport curriculum, but in events and activities across campus. Experience gained through creating and leading events provides the critical skills necessary for a successful career in the sport management industry. ‘Doc’ incorporates these ideas in many courses, such as when he takes students on facility tours throughout central Iowa and Des Moines (to Drake University, the Wells Fargo Arena, and Principal Park), as well as when student groups act as ‘boutique’ marketing firms developing creative plans for a competitive sport marketing project. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, ‘Doc’ quickly finds a way to get students involved and developing career skills. He is proud to be a part of a faculty that is hard working, compassionate, and generous towards its students.
