The RAVE Emergency Notification System is in place for students, faculty, staff, and the entire William Penn Community for weather notifications, campus emergencies, and other important announcements that need to reach the audience immediately. In case of weather-related announcements or emergency situations, a message will be sent out to the campus community through this system.
Messages can be received via email, text message, and phone, including cell phones and landlines. Each semester, all current students are added to the RAVE system for notifications. If the student does not wish to receive these notifications, they can opt out of the text message or phone call option. They will still receive the RAVE notification through their William Penn email address, as mandated by the Department of Education.
To be added to the William Penn University’s RAVE Emergency Notification System or for more information, contact Troy Boston, Director of Campus Safety, at troy.boston@wmpenn.edu with your contact information including name, phone number(s), and email address.
In addition to the RAVE system, any notification that is weather-related or an emergency will be posted on the official William Penn University website, the William Penn University Facebook page, and updated on the Campus Information Line at 641-673-1185. Also, local media outlets will be notified, especially concerning weather-related announcements.
